It is with immense pride and conviction that I welcome you to the Bharat Ki Soch Foundation (BKS). As a think tank dedicated towards delving into Indian wisdom for contemporary challenges, our mission is driven by a powerful vision: “reimagining Bharat’s civilisational wisdom for a resilient and progressive nation.” We believe that the foundational knowledge accumulated over millennia is not an exercise in nostalgia, but a pragmatic and ideal toolkit for charting the country’s path towards a Viksit Bharat.
We are convened at a critical juncture in world history, facing geopolitical volatility, economic realignments and complex socio-economic pressures. Yet, this period of high uncertainty is simultaneously a source of unprecedented opportunity. India, already the fastest-growing economy globally, has consistently converted every apada or crisis into avasar or opportunity. This stems from its indomitable civilizational spirit, abounding in resilience and patriotism, that keeps us going and growing regardless of any hurdles.
As we operate in this nuanced and complex geopolitical landscape, we need to look back at our repositories of knowledge to think of innovative solutions rooted in our civilizational wisdom. After all, as a popular Sanskrit aphorism suggests “parivartanamev sthiramasti” or change is the only constant. A society that adapts and rewires to this constant, survives and sustains. The enduring relevance of this wisdom lies in such an integrated, diversified and innovative approach. It moves far beyond conventional metrics, offering a blueprint for a resilient, balanced and humane approach to growth and nation-building.
The work of Bharat Ki Soch spans six crucial pillars: governance, economy, commerce, and finance, health, nutrition, and wellbeing, agriculture and food security, environment and sustainability, and national security. Through rigorous research and thought-provoking discussions generating a cross-current of ideas, we aim to address contemporary issues.
I invite you to engage with the Bharat Ki Soch Foundation. Together, we will carry the vision of Viksit Bharat forward—a nation that is prosperous, inclusive, grounded in its civilisational heritage and resilient against all global uncertainties. We are very passionate with unflinching effort and unstinted resolve to keep moving towards this joint earnest endeavour. Like the Rigveda's Aitareya Brahmana (7.15) suggests, charaiveti-charaiveti, or “keep going,” shall be our mantra. This is a tapasya in itself and we are determined to undertaking it in utmost sincerity and commitment.
