Having pursued an MA, MPhil and PhD in Ancient Indian History and Art History from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Univ. (JNU), Dr. Anand is working as a Senior Research Fellow at Bharat Ki Soch.
He has worked at the Dept. of History, Indira Gandhi National Open Univ. (IGNOU) Main Campus for four years, preparing self-instructional course material in History for BA (Hons. and Gen.) and MA.
Having researched the normative/canonical literature on Indian art known as the Shilpashastras, his academic interest and expertise lie in the textual rigour of Ancient India foregrounded by the Shastric literature. He has published widely, including a series of research papers and chapters in edited books on the same topic.
Dr. Navaneeth Krishnan S is a Senior Research Fellow at Bharat Ki Soch with over nine years of research and teaching experience. A historian specialising in illustrations, knowledge production, early modern transnational interactions, inter-species histories, folk religion, gender, military and labour history, he earned his PhD (2024) and MPhil (2018) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is a University First Rank holder and Gold Medallist in IMA History from the University of Hyderabad (2015) and was a Charles Wallace Fellow (2022). He has served in the Ministry of Defence, taught at Delhi University and Mahatma Gandhi University, presented at several national and international conferences, and is a recipient of the Research Award of Assumption College, Kerala.
Dr. Prachi Sharma is a Senior Research Fellow at Bharat Ki Soch. Her field of specialisation is Ancient and Early Medieval Indian History. She received her Mphil and PhD degrees from University of Delhi, Faculty of Social Sciences. Her areas of interest include epigraphy, epic traditions and history of ideas, particularly those relating to kingship.
Dr. Sophia Lisam is a Senior Research Fellow at Bharat Ki Soch. She completed her M.Phil and Ph.D from the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her research interests includes Sociology of Religion, Cultural Sociology, Visual Ethnography, Folklore Studies, Environmental Humanities, Folk Artefacts, Heritage Skills, and Indian Knowledge Systems. Her work bridges sociological inquiry with policy frameworks.
Dr. Lisam worked with national institutions including V. V. Giri National Labour Institute, National Institute for Career Services under Ministry of Labour and Employment, and the National Council for Vocational Education and Training under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. She is a recipient of Zubaan-Sasakawa Peace Foundation Grant for Young Researchers from the Northeast (2021).
Dr. Suchi Dayal holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in Ancient Indian History from Deccan College PGRI, Pune. She has taught at leading institutions including Punjab University, Chandigarh, and prestigious colleges of the University of Delhi such as Lady Shri Ram College, Gargi College, and Kamala Nehru College.
Dr. Dayal worked as Academic Consultant with SOSS, IGNOU, New Delhi, contributing to research and academic programmes. Currently, she is Senior Research Fellow at Bharat Ki Soch, focusing on Indian knowledge systems, historical thought and cultural traditions. Her interests include archaeological methodology, intellectual traditions, and interdisciplinary approaches to past.
